they dont kill the mother. female orangutans mate while they still have a baby and when the other one is born she abandons one of them. thats why there tens of thousands orphan orangutans. theyre critically endangered either, only wild orangutans are. in captivity there is over million.

I'm surprised that they do not have signs and/or literature warning people to not use flashes when photographing ANY animals as it is the direct cause of cataracts leading to blindness.

The poor keeper has a job. It is to take care of the animals in the custody of the park. Another function is to answer questions and to educate visitors of the plight of these animals. Unfortunately, most of the keepers second and third language skills are very limited and they welcome opportunities to improve their skill sets.

The keeper is native person, they don't really understand English. When the lady ask when this orangutan released, The keeper think how old the orangutan when the orangutan got caught.
